WE’RE LOOKING FOR LAWYERS

In the coming year, Canadians for Justice plans to launch a number of lawsuits to bring attention to various issues of national importance. Our approach to seeking justice in these matters will be creative and well conceived. Our organization is headed by a lawyer with considerable experience.

We are looking for lawyers to volunteer to work on what will be high profile cases. This legal work will either be pro bono or done on a contingency fee basis in the case of the class action cases. Lawyers who have expertise in class action litigation, constitutional law, administrative law, banking law, and trade mark litigation will be required. The class action lawyers should not have a conflict in acting against any of the major oil companies or banks operating in Canada. The constitutional and administrative law lawyers should not have a conflict in acting against Canada’s federal government. The trade mark lawyers should not have a conflict in acting against the large beverage companies. All of these lawyers need to be senior and well-resourced enough to compete with opposing senior counsel.

These cases will involve the protection of the health and financial interests of Canadians. Justice is our only motivation in these matters. Canadians for Justice will not profit financially from the outcome of these cases as the cases will be structured for the benefit of Canadians.

We also plan to address family law issues concerning separation and divorce. Statistics Canada’s last report on divorce rates was in 2008, at which time the agency found that 43.1 % of marriages in Canada ended before their 50th anniversary. Divorces often entail significant emotional and financial hardship. Rather than help Canadians make as smooth a transition as possible, our laws and legal system magnify these problems to a shameful extent. Other countries have more humane approaches that serve to better protect families, and we intend to advocate for positive change. Lawyers with experience in this area are invited to contribute their skills and knowledge to our project as well.

For further information, lawyers are asked to send an expression of interest to info@canadiansforjustice.org and further information will be provided.
